We moved to FL in Feb 2008. It was supposed to be a temporary move. Well, that was the plan. And as we all know, not everything goes the way you plan it.
In July we piled into the car and drove up to NC to look at some places. Only ONE of the ten I called to set up a viewing got back to me. A few days after we got back we found out that we didn't get the place we went to see/applied for. Ultimately bummed out, we had a long discussion about the likelihood of us getting stuck in FL for even longer. A week and a half ago, I found an amazing house for rent, went back and forth with the landlord via email, then she did a Skype walk through for us since we were so far away. We filled out the application and tried not to get our hopes up. An HOUR later, the landlord called to say the place was ours! Within an hour we had the lease signed and our F/L/S/P wired to her.
It's been a whirlwind of trying to hurry and get the entire house packed up, everything brought over from the storage unit, one of the cars shipped up, and get all utilities set up so that when we get there. The moving truck gets here on the 29th and we're SO not ready!
Oh ... and did I mention there's a hurricane on the way?!
